Upcoming open house with our Duck Lake Locatees/Residents
A date is now scheduled with our Duck Lake Locatees and members within the Duck Lake Area to attend an important event to hear their perspective to help with decisions on an MOU for health & safety, water/sewer and roads/transportation improvements on the OKIB/Kelowna/Lake Country boundary.
In February 2022, the Okanagan Indian Band, District of Lake Country and City of Kelowna announced agreement on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will pave the way toward building important health, safety and infrastructure improvements, including completion of the Okanagan Rail Trail.
At the information session, our Locatees and Residents of Duck Lake will learn about the terms of the MOU, the agreements that are being negotiated and what they mean for you, the progress that has been made, and next steps. The Locatees/Residents will also have the opportunity to speak with representatives from all three parties, as well as the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, to provide feedback and ask questions.
The information session will be held on May 29, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at 11063 Okanagan Centre Rd E (Lake Country Station 71 Fire Hall). Map attached.
Light Refreshments to be served.
