K41796 – Hullcar Mountain fire update
August 8th, 1630 Hours (4:30pm)
Way’ Members,
You may notice an increase in fire activity this afternoon while temperatures are higher. All activity increases are within the fire perimeter area, burning off unburnt fuel. The Southern perimeters facing OKIB are stable.
Crews continue to maintain guards on the north side of the fire where the fire is most active.
The weather forecast over the coming days will be stable with temperatures staying in the high 20s. Environment Canada has forecasted a low chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms this coming Friday and Saturday.
As a reminder OKIB urges watercraft users to stay off the North arm of Okanagan Lake, allowing BC Wildfire aircraft the required space needed to access water for firefighting.
The OKIB EOC will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates when possible.
