Participants are expected to commit to attending all three training sessions and completing all homework (approximately 2 hours/week).

Establish your e-commerce website and learn the skills to sell online! Spanning three online sessions, participants will learn e-commerce skills and set up a fully functional online store tailored to their business needs. This training is intensive and practical. It is ideal for: established businesses ready to start selling their products online or receive online payments for their services entrepreneurs establishing their business professionals looking to learn new skills

Training includes: Session 1 – Intro to Shopify, E-Commerce Website Set-up and Product Basics covers account creation, tax settings, adding products, theme customization, product photography, and writing engaging descriptions.

Session 2 – Pricing and Product Strategies, Advanced Theme Customization and Cultural Representation includes advanced theme customization, case studies on Indigenous businesses, pricing strategies, and product valuation.

Session 3 – Shipping, Sales Channels and Marketing explores shipping strategies, using various sales channels, and social media marketing.

Eligibility  This training is funded by the Indigenous Tourism Training Initiative (ITTI), and includes:Indigenous people in BC Indigenous entrepreneurs Indigenous tourism businesses (51%+ Indigenous ownership), and employees of First Nations communities First Nations businesses (51%+ First Nations ownership), and employees of ITBC Stakeholders, and employees of Prerequisites basic understanding of e-commerce concepts access to a computer with internet connectivity recommended: pre-established business with products and/or services ready to sell online
