Important - Water Service Interruptions

As part of the water construction project, we must combine the OKIB water systems which means there will be no water in different sections of OKIB over 3 separate days. More details can be found in the attached letter.

Who will be affected?

November 22, 2022 - community members on Band water systems who reside off Louis Lane Road/Tat Tu Lux Rd for approximately 10 hours, starting at 8:30 am.

November 25 and 28, 2022 - community members on Band water systems who reside north of 12193 Westside Road (i.e., north of Lydia Louis’ residence) up to Irish Creek Road. Residents will have two days of water service interruptions:

  • no water on Nov 25, for approximately 10 hours, starting at 8:30 am.
  • water on Nov 26 and 27, and
  • no water on Nov 28 for approximately 10 hours, starting at 8:30 am.

November 28, 2022 - all community members, businesses, and offices (including HOL Hall, Health, Blue Bird, and the Band Office) on the Irish Creek and Head-of-the-Lake water systems, including those who experienced an interruption on Nov 25, for approximately 10 hours, starting at 8:30 am.

To prepare for this interruption, please have additional water storage on hand for activities like hand washing, manually flushing toilets, drinking and cooking of small items. Please be aware that activites with high water usage such as showering, laundry, using dishwashers, etc., will not be feasible during the interruption.

We thank you in advance for these necessary interruptions, which will lead to improved water service in the affected areas.
