Fire shows slower growth to the north and remains active to the south

The fire today is showing slow growth on the northern flank. Fire activity continues to be high on the southern flank. Central Okanagan Regional District (CORD) today had an opportunity to fly over and reassess the situation. Further information will be forthcoming tomorrow.
Helicopters are attacking a fire that is burning near the 3400 block of Westside Road, which is the northernmost point of the fire.

We are asking OKIB members who live at Duck Lake to contact our EOC and provide contact information for yourself and your relatives who live there. Text or call 250-309-2458, or email [email protected] to register. This is a precautionary measure, so that we can reach out to you if necessary. Members should be aware that if an evacuation alert is issued, it will come from CORD, not OKIB.
