“The Okanagan Indian Band Health Harm Reduction program is proud to present a empowering event for youth age 13-18 – the ‘Healing through Hip-Hop Workshop’ featuring the talented Kiva MH. This workshop will serve as an engaging introduction to hip-hop songwriting, emphasizing the importance of song structure and lyrical expression.

In addition to exploring the art of hip-hop, this workshop aims to create awareness around the crucial topic of self-harm, drawing from Kiva MH’s own personal experiences as a source of inspiration and healing. Kiva MH will guide each participant through the process of crafting their own verse, while simultaneously fostering an understanding of the powerful connection between music and the journey to healing.

Join us for a day of learning and creativity! Lunch will be provided for all participants, and there will be exciting door prizes to add an element of fun and surprise to this empowering experience.”
